Akkodis is expanding and is looking for several HIL System Test Engineers to support a vehicle manufacturer in California. The role involves developing test methods for automated execution, implementing tests using Hardware in the Loop equipment, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure effective test design strategies.
Responsibilities:
- System level test environment design, creation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing activities support, and automation support
- Simulink model integration and electromechanical test solutions deployment and maintenance
- Debug software, hardware, and communication issues across ECUs and interfaces
- Implement bug fixes or configuration updates
- Define regression tests where applicable
- Reproduce and document bugs
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation while using version control systems
- Support setup and configuration of HIL setups with multiple ECUs and sensors
- Work with wiring diagrams, communication networks
- Define HIL system architecture
- Configure real-time simulation tools (e.g. Vector CANoe)
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic engineering is required. However, will consider computer science majors with relevant mechatronics/robotics coursework
- Greater than 3 years of professional HIL test bench environment experience within the automotive industry at the component and/or system level
- Exposure to HiL simulations and tools like Vector CAN tools is required
- Python and/or CAPL scripting for automation tasks
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote, Access)
- Ability to handle sophisticated tasks and complicated situations under compressed timing
- Outstanding planning, organizational, and project management skills with accurate follow-up to accomplish multiple objectives
- Confirmed ability to drive and deliver results
- Effective written and oral presentation skills
- Ability to build strong effective relationships with multi-functional teams (Program, Studio, Purchasing, Core Body Engineering, VE, VI, VO, VEV) and work well with people at all levels of the organization
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; experience working with cross‑functional and supplier teams
- Vehicle Program launch experience is desirable
- Stellar interpersonal skills
