ParsonsKellogg is a multibillion-dollar engineering and technology consulting firm seeking a Civil Engineer to join their team in New York City. The role involves contributing to the planning and design of critical infrastructure projects, performing engineering tasks, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the U.S.
Responsibilities:
- Perform field investigations and support the design of roadway/highway geometry, grading and drainage, utilities, green infrastructure, work zone traffic control, site layout, and other associated transportation engineering tasks
- Develop civil/highway design plans, profiles, sections, and details using engineering software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation
- Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, specifications, and other contract documents
- Support multi‑disciplinary design development teams for project execution, coordinating with structural, traffic, geotechnical, environmental, and other disciplines
- Interface with CAD designers, other engineers, and subcontractors to progress design packages and resolve technical issues
- Provide support for other engineering activities as required, including design reviews and construction-phase services
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) and 3 - 7 years of related work experience
- Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation software, and working knowledge of other PC software packages typically associated with engineering
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- NYCDOT/NYCDDC civil/highway experience preferred
- Familiarity with NYCDDC, NYCDOT, and/or NYCDEP standards and specifications
- Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred
