Alliant Insurance Services is one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing insurance brokerage and consulting firms. They are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead, manage, and oversee complex project-level activities, ensuring project objectives are clearly defined and met according to customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the coordination and completion of multiple small to large projects
- Acts as central point person for assigned projects and keeps sponsors, stakeholders, business partners, and project team members informed on matters, including progress to plan, key milestones, integration efforts/needs across the program, and/or project, risks, issues, etc
- Ensures project team members are clear on their assignments and remain focused on objectives line-of-sight
- Partners with project sponsor to lead the clarification of project objectives and identify quality outcome expectations
- Establishes goals and implements action plans for achieving set objectives
- Creates and manages project implementation plans, which includes but is not limited to, deliverables and milestones
- Coordinates and creates business and functional requirement documents required to achieve desired objectives
- Develops internal communication strategies useful in ensuring clear communication between various departments of the organization
- Tracks project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
- Provides leadership and direction for the project team through clear communications, mentoring and coaching
- Prepares and leads project team status meetings, promoting a collaborative environment while recording meeting discussions, decisions and actions
- Creates project controls, such as action item lists, risk logs, issues logs, change control and decision logs
- Escalates risks, issues, and changes that will impact the desired objectives or schedule
- Seeks opportunities to implement process improvements within the department
- Identifies opportunities to improve process and policy
- Manages vendor and contract submissions through the approval process
- Directs content development, providing creative recommendations and solutions, as needed
- Assists team members with surplus workflow
- Establishes strategic vision and advances professional practice
- Oversees email workflows, design, and updates; implements knowledge of email coding and best practices; measures the performance for all email marketing campaigns
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Five (5) or more years of experience managing complex projects
- Experience with System and Data Delivery projects
- Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodology
- Strong project management or scrum master experience
- Portfolio Management Professional (PMP)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Agile or other project management systems
- Excellent business requirements identification and articulation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Good problem solving and time management skills including the ability to work independently
- Excellent presentation preparation and effective/efficient delivery
