Zoom Communications is seeking a Head of Network Engineering to play a pivotal role in building and expanding their global data center infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing network improvement plans, driving senior leadership decision-making, and leading strategic planning initiatives with functional stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Work with internal teams to establish network improvement plans
- Responsible for driving and influencing senior leadership decision making
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships and partnerships with stakeholders
- Ability to drive conflict resolution between stakeholders, including senior management and cross functional teams
- Conducts network design reviews and processes of various projects and products
- Provides technology leadership by working with different teams to deliver solutions
- Key decision maker on Network technology
- Communicates budget estimates for cross functional projects/programs, and ensures teams execute assigned projects within approved budgets
- Responsible for escalating issues and potential roadblocks to management, including making recommendations to address and resolve
- Responsible for identifying and mitigating project execution risks
- Guides and/or revises project plan to ensure it completely captures all activities and eliminates duplicative efforts
- Defines and evangelizes processes, policies and standards across all stakeholders
- Proactively seeks continuous improvement opportunities in process/ policies/ standards
- Responsible for leading strategic planning, influencing and driving prioritization of initiatives with functional stakeholders
- Responsible for developing and communicating a roadmap of projects and initiatives to functional stakeholders
Requirements:
- 15+ years of experience with planning and design of customer-facing SaaS production data centers with carrier-grade reliability
- Strong knowledge of Internet routing protocols and techniques such as BGP, OSPF, ECMP, MPLS
- Expert knowledge and experience with routing protocols and traffic engineering
- Expert knowledge and experience VPN encryption technologies, modern switching platforms, and firewalls including policy implementation and capacity management
- Proven ability to manage mission-critical, highly visible infrastructure projects to completion
- Experience with low-level infrastructure testing and troubleshooting tools including packet capture devices, network equipment debug and diagnostics, (Wireshark, NetFlow)
- Understanding of security-policy implementation details and how to manage design and support of network environments to maintain policy integrity
- Working knowledge of Juniper, Arista, and Cisco equipment highly desirable
