Interplay Learning is the leader in immersive learning for the skilled trades, now including Industrial Training International. The Principal React Engineer will lead front-end development efforts for their mobile-first VR training platform, focusing on developing web applications using React and TypeScript while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring code quality.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to the development of cutting-edge web applications using React and TypeXScript
- Support engineering teams building innovative products for Interplay customers as well as engineering teams building tooling for Interplay’s simulation design team
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, architect, and ship high-quality software solutions
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
- Ensure code quality through best practices, testing, and code reviews
- Review MRs and communicate code improvements empathetically
- Extend expertise to mobile development and VR applications
Requirements:
- 7+ years of proven expertise in web development, with a track record of successfully delivering web applications preferably related to education, eLearning or ecommerce
- In-depth knowledge of React and TypeScript, RTK Query, Tanstack, thr33JS, and with a preference for experience in J-Query language for maintenance of existing tools and migration, and Rest API
- Experience working in Agile and SCRUM software development practices and leading architectural decisions across multiple SCRUM teams
- Proven experience in building web applications for mobile devices
- Formal training in a relevant software development or computer science course, or equivalent practical experience that can be demonstrated
- Strong communication skills in English, facilitating effective collaboration with team members and the ability to delegate tasks appropriately when necessary
- Practical ability to write clear, concise, and readable code and documentation
- Experience in testing practices including unit and E2E testing
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
