Cypress HCM is seeking an AI Automation Engineer to help scale their People function by streamlining operations and accelerating service delivery across the employee lifecycle. The role involves working with People systems and AI-enabled workflow automation platforms to improve efficiency and scalability of People technology and operations.
Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with key stakeholder groups to deeply understand pain points, and identify opportunities where automation can deliver meaningful impact
- Drive complex problem solving by clearly defining issues, socializing and aligning on recommendations with stakeholders, and ensuring delivery of intended outcomes
- Establish and manage a structured intake and prioritization process for automation and AI requests, maintaining a clear portfolio of work aligned to business impact, effort, and risk
- Operate in a sprint-based, iterative delivery model, rapidly designing, testing, and shipping solutions while incorporating feedback and learnings into continuous improvements
- Drive continuous iteration by incorporating stakeholder feedback, usage data, and performance metrics to refine workflows, agents, and automations over time
- Balance speed and experimentation with appropriate governance, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with People and company standards
- Discover, evaluate, and redesign People workflows with the greatest opportunity for automation across the employee lifecycle
- Build and operate end-to-end automated workflows using low-code and orchestration platforms such as n8n
- Apply AI capabilities to streamline work such as intake triage, content generation, summarization, and intelligent routing, ensuring strong controls around data accuracy, privacy, and security
- Create reusable, scalable automation solutions that improve day-to-day productivity for employees, managers, and the People team, including chat-based workflows, automated communications, task triggers, and real-time status visibility
- Design and operationalize AI agents that deliver scalable, self-service access to People policies, programs, and process guidance for employees and managers
- Operate and deploy HR AI capabilities in compliance with defined governance standards, ensuring appropriate approvals, auditability, and monitoring of outcomes
- Stay current on People technology trends and best practices, proactively sharing insights and recommendations to strengthen People systems and operations
- Build feedback and evaluation loops to continually improve workflow automation and AI agent performance
- Define and track quantitative success metrics and communicate impact to key stakeholders
- Create documentation to ensure automations and agents are scalable, maintainable, and transferable beyond initial deployment
- Educate and guide users on effective and efficient approaches to implementing new features and provide technical guidance for testing / adoption of new features and functionality
Requirements:
- 3+ years automating systems at the corporate/enterprise level utilizing n8n, Zapier, Claude, Clay, etc
- Proven experience building workflows and integrations
- Excellent communication, written, verbal, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential data with discretion and care
- 2+ years AI optimization focus within the People Technology, HRIS, HR Operations role highly preferred
- Experience with Workday (core HCM; additional modules a plus), Greenhouse (or comparable ATS), Pave, Case Management Systems, Slack or other similar People Systems highly preferred
