Expert Contributor - Mechanical Engineering(Task-Based)

Snorkel AI is a data development company focused on improving the truthfulness and reasoning abilities of advanced AI systems. They are seeking Mechanical Engineering experts to design and solve challenging tasks that test AI systems, helping to shape the next generation of AI models.

Responsibilities:

• Help shape the next generation of AI models by designing challenging tasks, stress-testing AI agents, and providing expert feedback that steers model behavior toward ideal solutions
• Create high-quality mechanical engineering problems and develop rigorous solutions
• Identify where models fail in scientific reasoning

Requirements:

• Deep fluency in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to create graduate-level, multi-step analytical problems and produce precise, fully worked solutions
• Strong review instincts — able to identify subtle scientific errors, suggest more rigorous approaches, and evaluate competing solution paths across multiple turns of a conversation
• Master's or PhD candidate, or graduate, in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Background in one or more of: academic research, university-level teaching, advanced problem writing, laboratory science, or technical scientific communication
• familiarity with grading rubrics
• olympiad- or exam-style question design
• evaluating AI-generated scientific reasoning
