Turquoise is a Series C price transparency platform focused on transforming healthcare pricing. They are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their Data Product Engineering teams, guiding technical direction and fostering collaboration to deliver high-quality user experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of product engineers, responsible for building data analysis products on top of Turquoise’s best-in-class health service pricing data
- Own the technical execution and delivery of key product features, ensuring high quality, performance, and scalability
- Provide technical guidance and oversight, specifically in modern frontend technologies (VueJS), ensuring best practices in coding, architecture, and design are followed
- Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions and ensure alignment with business goals
- Champion a culture of high quality, conducting code reviews and ensuring the product meets rigorous standards for user experience and reliability
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience in product engineering, or a related role, with 2+ years of experience managing a team of engineers
- Proven expertise shipping reliable products with high quality user experiences
- A track record of building inclusive teams, with process decisions informed by bottom-up insight from engineers
- Proven expertise managing and evolving incident response practices and managing an on-call schedule
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and platform services such as Heroku
- Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools (DataDog)
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical issues to non-technical audiences
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across functional teams
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Experience working in SaaS or data-intensive environments
- Familiarity with compliance (HIPAA) and security frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO-27001)
- Familiarity and experience with Python, Django, and VueJS
- Experience in a remote-first environment
