Investment Banking Shareholder Activism Analyst - New York

Morgan Stanley is a worldwide leader in Investment Banking, recognized for its performance in Mergers & Acquisitions and corporate finance. The Investment Banking Analyst will join the Shareholder Activism and Corporate Defense Team, advising clients on shareholder activism defense and corporate governance while managing day-to-day deal execution on high-profile mandates.

Responsibilities:

• Building and auditing complex and innovative analyses and datasets to identify key themes, trends and implications – both quantitatively and qualitatively
• Managing day-to-day deal execution on high-profile live defense mandates (including proxy contests and contested M&A) and pitches (to drive client marketing / targeting efforts)
• Partnering cross-functionally with all industry and geographical coverage officers, and other product teams, to deliver integrated client advice
• Analyzing detailed corporate, financial, legal, and regulatory information to inform decision-making while thinking strategically and tactically in complicated situations
• Maintaining a strong commercial instinct and ability to perform under tight deadlines and pressure, with strong interpersonal and client communication skills
