Lockheed Martin is a leading aerospace and defense company, and they are seeking a Project Engineering Manager to oversee engineering projects. This role involves directing project teams, coordinating activities, and ensuring the successful completion of engineering initiatives within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organizing, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility
- Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions
- Plans and formulates engineering program and organizes project staff according to requirements
- Assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project
- Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems
- Embed new processes and products into the business on time & on budget to meet committed demand agreements that benefit Lockheed Martin
- Partner across the Space IT&DE and Functional teams to plan, execute, and drive adoption of new processes & products into the business
- Lead team of Project Engineers and Planners – Supervise project engineers and planners; provide recruitment, training, performance, and compensation oversight
- Prioritize work based on Key Corporate Commitment (KCC) tiered deliveries, business demand, cross-team capacity, and complexity
- Maintain schedule template with latest lessons learned
- Manage scope, risk & issues, and adoption completions – Manage Deployment & Adoption Program Summary Master Schedule (PSMS), Process schedule change requests, identify and mitigate risks, remove roadblocks, resolve issues, and coordinate adoption completion closeout; Escalate critical problems to senior leadership
- Coordinate hand‑offs & integrations while synchronizing business rhythm – Manage regular status syncs with Digital Portfolio Manager, Program/Portfolio Digital Transformation Leads, Product Teams, IT Operations (Classified Project management), FORCE (Unclassified Project Management), Licensing, Business Process Re-Engineering, Business Intelligence, Functional POCs (Process Owners, Organizational Change Management Leads, Functional Directors) to maintain alignment and transparency
Requirements:
- Strong leadership and communication skillset with ability to build effective teams
- Strong coordination in planning, integration and completion of engineering projects
- Demonstrated experience in Project Management
- Demonstrated application of Risk & Opportunity Management techniques
- Secret clearance
- Ability to attain TS/SCI clearance
- Knowledge of Space processes across functional areas and program process tailoring
- Experience in creating project plans from scratch then establishing and managing through execution
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Agile Management as an Agile Product Owner
- Experience with IT systems deployment and process adoption
- Familiarity with IT operations, networks, and licensing structures
- Knowledge in Unclassified/Classified IT infrastructure deployments
- Knowledge and understanding of classified environments (Collateral secret, TS/SCI, SAP)
- Knowledge of Software deployments
- Knowledge of cyber security policies/procedures
- Knowledge of program security policies and procedures
- Familiarity with Space 1LMX capabilities/processes/products
- Experience with JIRA, Microsoft Project, Open Plan and integration with Tableau
- Familiarity with Milestone Pro
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong presentation skills and capable of briefing audiences large or small of varying technical knowledge
- Ability to drive technical, cultural, and organizational change
