Clinical Leadership in a Growing Specialty Hospital
Dogwood Veterinary Specialty & Emergency is seeking a
Director of Nursing / Technician Manager to help lead and support our talented team of veterinary technicians and assistants.
As Dogwood continues to grow and expand to an
additional hospital site within the Atlanta area, this role will play an important part in helping ensure clinical teams are supported, well-trained, and positioned to deliver exceptional patient care.
This role is ideal for an experienced
credentialed veterinary technician leader who is passionate about mentorship, technical excellence, and building strong clinical teams in a specialty hospital environment.
The Director of Nursing / Technician Manager will provide
clinical leadership and support for the hospital’s technician teams, working closely with hospital leadership and medical directors to strengthen training, workflow efficiency, and patient care standards.
This position will help support the
growth and development of the technician team as the hospital continues to expand its services and team structure.
Hiring Timeline
Dogwood is actively expanding its leadership team as the hospital continues to grow.
Sourcing and interviews will begin in April 2026, with a
target hire completion by May/June 2026.
What your day will look like
Technician Leadership & Development
- Provide leadership and mentorship to veterinary technicians and assistants
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of clinical team members
- Help build training pathways for technicians interested in specialty medicine
- Promote continuing education and clinical skill advancement
Clinical Operations Support
- Help coordinate technician staffing and clinical coverage
- Support clinical workflow efficiency across departments
- Work closely with veterinarians and hospital leadership to maintain high standards of patient care
- Assist with the development and implementation of clinical protocols
Quality of Care & Standards
- Promote best practices in anesthesia, patient monitoring, and critical care
- Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and medical standards
- Support initiatives related to patient safety and clinical excellence
Qualifications & Competencies
Required
-
Licensed Veterinary Technician credentials in GA or able to sit for boards

5+ years of veterinary technician experience
- Leadership or supervisory experience within a veterinary hospital
Preferred
- Experience in emergency or specialty veterinary medicine
- Interest in clinical education and technician mentorship
- Advanced technical training or VTS pursuit
