The Design Project Manager will manage design activities for small to medium-sized clients, blending technical drafting expertise with consultative design capabilities to deliver workplace technology design solutions across various domains.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with clients, designers, and project teams to understand project goals and provide technology design recommendations aligned with business needs and workplace standards
- Advise on AV systems, security systems, and low voltage infrastructure, including equipment selection, layouts, and integration strategies
- Support design decisions by evaluating functionality, scalability, user experience, and cost considerations
- Prepare and set up design projects using client base files, applying Workplace Technology standards and developing project-ready documentation through all phases of design
- Execute and interpret design markups, while also owning portions of design development independently
- Produce detailed drawings in AutoCAD and Revit, including plans, elevations, sections, and system diagrams
- Develop and maintain equipment lists, system narratives, and design documentation to support project delivery
- Collaborate with CAD technicians, engineers, and external partners to ensure accuracy and alignment across all deliverables
- Maintain strong communication with client-side CAD and design teams to coordinate updates and revisions
- Ensure consistency between drawings, specifications, and system requirements
- Assist in preparing addenda, narratives, and design-related communications
- Participate in project meetings and support coordination across stakeholders
- Provide input during planning phases to ensure smooth project execution from design through deployment
Requirements:
- Two-year technical degree with a focus on AutoCAD or four-year degree desired
- Minimum of two years of technology design experience and one year of AutoCAD experience
- Strong technical skills in AutoCAD and Revit
- Solid abilities using MS Office suite and Excel
- High level of communication skills both written and verbal
- Revit experience desired
- Certifications, desired but not required, include: Registered Communications Construction Designer (RCCD), CTS, CTS-D, and Physical Security Professional (PSP)
