Bechtel Corporation is a global leader in engineering and construction, and they are seeking a Tanks Project Manager to oversee LNG tank and Field Erected Tanks projects. The role involves managing project planning, execution, and ensuring compliance with contract requirements while leading a high-performance project team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, coordinate and administer the project through planning, engineering, procurement, construction, start up, initial operations and contract close out
- Oversee the development of budgets and schedules, manage performance, report progress and initiate action to assure program/project objectives and schedules are met and work is performed within budget and according to specifications
- Monitor and control all contractual commitments to ensure all work is performed in accordance with the specifications, drawings and terms of the contract, that a trend program is in place, and that change orders and claims are processed in a timely manner
- Resolve problems and coordinate the final turnover of project tanks scope to the customer
- Provide leadership for the development and maintenance of a high performance project team
- Responsible for project execution, ensure that the project is delivered within contract requirements, standards of quality and safety, and to the customer and Bechtel performance expectations
- Lead/conduct project and customer meetings to promote and facilitate communication, review progress/performance, discuss issues and facilitate problem resolution
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 15+ years of relevant experience or 19+ years of relevant work experience
- Previous project management experience on lump sum self-perform direct hire LNG tank projects is required
- Knowledge of industry, technology and EPC work processes, including knowledge of customs, culture and business practices
- Knowledge and experience in project execution plan development and implementation
- Knowledge and experience in contracts/subcontracts formulation, risk analysis and negotiations
- Ability to effectively organize and staff a project team within a matrix organization
- Prior construction supervision and management experience on EPC projects similar to the projects described above
- Strong 'Zero Accident' ES&H experience; a demonstrated ability to implement and hold field contract supervision and contractors accountable for the successful implementation of the project
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
- Advanced level of knowledge of ES&H, procurement and construction
