Director, SWG Engineering

Netskope is a market-leading cloud security company focused on redefining Cloud, Network, and Data Security. The Director of Engineering for Secure Web Gateway will manage an engineering team, contributing to the development of cloud-based security products while providing technical leadership and ensuring product resiliency.

Responsibilities:

• Managing, coaching, mentoring and encouraging the growth and career progress of team members
• Collaborating with product managers and architects to lead the design, development and delivery of key datapath cloud security services running in 100+ data centers globally
• Maintaining and increasing Product resiliency and sustainability
• Leading teams in AI assisted software development and enabling teams to build well-designed quality software
• Providing technical leadership by sharing and adapting industry leading practices for the benefit of the company

Requirements:

• A minimum of 15+ years of relevant work experience with 8+ years in a managerial role
• Proven experience as a technical leader for managers of managers, as the leader of an engineering organization makes significant impacts
• Experience in managing globally distributed teams in different time zones, be proficiency in defining effective engineering processes to accelerate the delivery of business results with high quality
• Passionate about developing products for hundreds of millions of consumers, with can-do attitude to deliver innovative solutions in high velocity
• Expertise in building high throughput and low latency dataplane systems, such as networking from Layer 3 to Layer 7, web proxy, security, monitoring and observability,etc
• Demonstrable technical accomplishments and earned engineering credibility
• Experience with cloud service frameworks and service mesh architectures
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate in an open, transparent and consistent manner with team and co-workers
• A strong customer focus and willingness to roll up your sleeves and respond to the needs of customers proactively and promptly
• BSCS or equivalent required
• MS in CS or Engineering equivalent strongly preferred
• REST API design and development experience
• Proponent of TDD a big plus, knowledge of various unit testing frameworks
