About the Role:
As a Sales Engineer with Uniti you will communicate detailed technical, architectural, engineering and product deliverables to all levels within a customer s organization. To excel in this role, you will leverage technical and sales skills, self-reliance, and collaboration skills to work among internal and external customer teams to create a unique customer experience. You will partner with sales and account teams to uncover new or incremental, margin rich, revenue opportunities.
What You'll Do:
• Engage in a consultative manner with prospective and current customers to understand their technical and business challenges and educate them on the full suite of Uniti products and services as well as network designs
• Collaborate with account development to create valuable proposals that include Uniti product and solution pricing, equipment design and Visio documentation
• Prepare and provide technical documentation and support to the customer account from pre-sale to implementation by collaborating with engineering and service delivery
• Educate internal teams and customers by creating and delivering technical product training and seminars
• Attend customer meetings to share your knowledge of TDM, UCaaS, SDWAN, LAN/WAN technologies, LAN/WAN applications, SIP, customized fiber, data center and associated hardware
• Follow market trends and competitors to identify opportunities for the team to prospect new business and increase revenue
• Define achievable success criteria and convert proof of concept and evaluation engagements to long term customers
Qualifications:
• Proven success preparing and presenting technical data to multiple levels of an organization including C Level officers, operating unit VPs, technical evaluators, IT consultants, front end users, and others
• Strong history of successful customer relationships both virtual and in person
• Ability to collaborate cross functionally with internal and external partners
• Keen business acumen with experience researching and evaluating a customer s financial needs and objectives
• Knowledge of the telecommunications industry and sales cycles
• Strong understanding of voice/data/internet applications, communications technology, and network design. IP Routing and Switching, IP V4/V6, MPLS, VPN, SIP and TDM Voice, Data Center, Cloud Solutions, Virtualization, Managed Services and UCaaS
• Solid understanding of technical terminology related to company products & services and a general knowledge of voice and data communications equipment
• Understanding of sales cycles and the solution selling process, preferably at multiple levels, i.e., Internet & Enterprise
Minimum Qualifications:
• College degree in IT, Engineering or a related field and 8 years professional level experience or 12 years professional level related Engineering/Technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related
• Engineering/Technical experience required
