SHI International Corp. is a global provider of IT solutions and services, and they are seeking an Associate Solutions Engineer to support the sales team in designing and positioning technology solutions for customers. This early-career role involves collaboration with experienced team members to translate customer needs into practical solutions across various technology domains.
Responsibilities:
- Support Account Executives and Solutions Engineers during the presales process
- Participate in customer discovery calls and meetings to help understand basic business and technical requirements
- Assist with the design of solutions across datacenter infrastructure, networking, security, and services offerings
- Help prepare technical documentation, diagrams, and solution summaries for proposals and presentations
- Set up and assist with product demonstrations, labs, and proof‑of‑concept environments
- Learn and explain core vendor technologies and solutions with guidance from team members
- Assist in responding to technical questionnaires
- Collaborate with internal delivery and services teams to understand implementation approaches and best practices
- Maintain clear documentation of customer requirements and proposed solutions
- Actively build technical knowledge and Presales skills through training, shadowing, and hands‑on experience
- Presenting: Can prepare and deliver presentations, addressing key points and responding to questions with clarity
- Negotiation: Can proactively seek out negotiation opportunities, initiate discussions, and contribute to conflict resolution
- Communication: Can effectively communicate complex ideas and information, and can adapt communication style to the audience

Requirements:
- Completed Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience required
- 2-4 years of experience in a similar role
- Ability to travel to SHI, Partner, and Customer Events
- Experience working in complex Data Center sales opportunities - Intermediate
- Ability to design data center infrastructures that include hybrid cloud, hyper converged, software-defined data center (SDDC), infrastructure/platform as a service, automation, containerization, and Data Center Management Platforms - Intermediate
- Strong knowledge of Virtualization technologies, Hypervisors, server virtualization, Software Defined Data Center, containerization, and automation - Basic
- Ability to effectively communicate and sell complex technical products or services by understanding customer needs, articulating the value proposition, and providing technical expertise to support the sales process - Intermediate
- Expertise in mainstream technologies to include: Dell Technologies, NetApp, HPE, Cisco, Pure Storage, Azure, AWS, Veeam, Nutanix - Intermediate
- Experience with Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and High Availability Solutions (backup/recovery, data protection, mirroring, active/standby, active/active, clustering) - Intermediate
- Presenting: Can prepare and deliver presentations, addressing key points and responding to questions with clarity
