Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements
Oversee general ledger integrity, reconciliations, and journal entry preparation and review
Manage internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance standards
Prepare and deliver timely financial reports and covenant compliance packages to lenders
Manage and develop a small internal accounting team
Support the CEO with annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow modeling
Conduct variance analysis and develop actionable insights for business unit leaders
Design and deliver reporting packages and dashboards to senior leadership
Develop and continuously monitor financial and operational KPIs across departments to drive decision-making
Evaluate and enhance accounting processes to improve efficiency and scalability
Support implementation and optimization of financial systems and tools
Leverage automation and technology to streamline reporting and controls
Act as a strategic partner to functional leaders ensuring financial visibility and discipline across departments
Provide financial insights to support pricing strategies, margin optimization, and resource allocation decisions
Collaborate with leadership to align financial plans with company-wide goals and operational execution
Requirements
Between 5-7 years of experience as controller with total accounting experience of 15 years, including leadership of accounting or finance functions
CPA preferred; public accounting experience strongly valued
Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including revenue recognition under ASC 606 and other technical accounting standards
Experience in a software, SaaS, or recurring-revenue business strongly preferred
Proven track record managing monthly close processes and preparing financial statements
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Ability to lead and manage a small team or external partners with accountability
Highly analytical and detail-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills
Possess the ability to work in a changing, fast-paced environment while being a team player, willing to roll up their sleeves to do whatever is needed to deliver the customer experience we strive for
