SUMMARY
The Upper School Dean of Student Life collaborates with the Upper School Dean of Students to prepare and coordinate all activities of the student experience in the Upper School.
This is a full-time, 10-month, exempt position. Evening and weekend work is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach the equivalent of one year-long course; role of advisor may be added in future years;
- Recommend and participate in the development of Upper School policies and procedures;
- Administrator of:
- all activities for the 12th-grade year, from the selection of the Parent Coordinators through the Senior Surprise, with assistance from the 12th grade team;
- the Homecoming and Winter Formal dances;
- All leisure activities (ping pong, sand volleyball, etc.) for US students;
- US student planner;
- Budgets of activities under this role’s purview.
- Assist and partner with:
- The Dean of Students and grade level teams to cultivate student experience and leadership opportunities across student life (StuCo, Boards, Affinity Groups, Clubs);
- the Dean of Students to maintain the schedule of and coordinate all Upper School assemblies, its calendar and location, and both internal and external speakers;
- the Dean of Students and other faculty sponsors with elections for Student Council and the Arts, Athletics, and Service Boards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required, master’s degree preferred;
- Teaching experience, ideally in independent schools;
- Previous experience leading and training teams of students and adults;
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is preferred, or should be obtained within first year.

- proficient with conflict resolution and/or mediation.
