Chainguard is a trusted source for open source software, helping organizations build faster and stay compliant. They are seeking a Social Media and Brand Marketing Manager to lead their social media strategy and community engagement, translating complex topics into engaging narratives while fostering authentic conversations with their audience.
Responsibilities:
- Own and evolve Chainguard’s social media strategy across key platforms (LinkedIn, Reddit, YouTube, and wherever you think we should be next)
- Create content that stands out from the noise: create and edit videos to shine for social, create a viral meme, and predict the next social trend
- Develop and manage a content calendar aligned to product launches, brand campaigns, partnerships, and industry moments
- Translate complex security and open source topics into clear, engaging, and shareable content
- Analyze performance and continuously optimize content based on data and audience insights
- Support executives and subject matter experts in building their social presence
- Drive employee advocacy social sharing programs
- Lead and grow Chainguard’s Slack community as a high-signal hub for engineers and security practitioners
- Actively monitor and engage in Reddit conversations relevant to software supply chain security, containers, and open source
- Build trust and credibility through authentic participation, not just brand promotion
- Create feedback loops from community insights back into Product, Marketing, and Developer Relations
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in social media or content roles, preferably in B2B, engineering, or security-focused companies
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to simplify complex topics
- Deep familiarity with platform dynamics (especially LinkedIn and Reddit)
- Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics to inform strategy
- Ability to create, edit, and share content in tools like Sprout Social, Canva, Descript, and Goldcast
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving, highly technical environment
