The Senior Product Analyst will provide analysis supporting profit and growth for assigned markets or products, focusing on pricing, segmentation, and complex analytics to develop market strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Provides analytical support that informs product, pricing, rule, and underwriting recommendations
- Partners with Product Managers and Associate Product Managers to evaluate performance drivers and assess opportunities for profitable growth
- Build analytical tools, summaries, and visuals to support decision making; influences outcomes through data driven recommendations
- Demonstrates an understanding of marketplace insights, competitive intelligence, and regulatory issues to inform the management and design of products
- Understand the pricing and underwriting of competitor products in support of analyzing the performance of the business relative to the market and industry
- Demonstrates expertise in pulling and analyzing data, building analytical tools, and creating summarized views and visualizations to inform conclusions
- Triangulates insights across multiple data sources to recommend solutions to unstructured problems with direction and guidance
- Utilizes information to develop and communicate recommendations for product, rule, rate or underwriting changes which directly drives profit and growth of the business
- Self-motivated with a proven ability to identify barriers to profitability and growth
- Presents, informs and influences recommendations to leaders and business partners regarding proposed product and pricing changes or new products
- Supports state‑level rate filings and regulatory interactions by preparing analysis, documentation, and insights
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in US property & casualty (P&C) in a pricing or actuarial role; or related experience preferred
- Demonstrates strong product knowledge
- Understands principles of P&C pricing and underwriting
- Understands key indicators of product health
- Understands how to review and assess competitor product positioning and go to market strategies
- Excellent interpretation of complex statistical data
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate nuanced concepts in a straightforward way
- Possesses strong technical aptitude
- Experience in Excel required
- Effective interpersonal skills: has the ability to work in teams, embraces collaboration and networking
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and business acumen
- Bachelor's degree in business or related fields such as mathematics, physics, engineering, economics, finance, statistics, accounting, or actuarial science preferred
- Experience interacting with Departments of Insurance, agents, and distribution/sales preferred
- Proficiency in programming languages and tools, such as Python, R, and SQL preferred
