Novo is a global life sciences services organization supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies worldwide. They are seeking a highly driven Business Development Manager to expand market presence within pharmaceutical accounts across the Southeast and Midwest regions, focusing on identifying, pursuing, and closing new client opportunities for scientific services and laboratory operations support.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, target, and win new pharmaceutical clients
- Develop and execute a territory growth strategy focused on net-new logo acquisition
- Build relationships with key stakeholders across R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Operations, and Procurement
- Sell custom insourcing solutions including scientific staffing, lab support, and GMP-related services
- Manage full sales cycle: prospecting, discovery, solution development, proposal, negotiation, and close
- Partner with internal scientific and delivery teams to design tailored client solutions
- Maintain a strong, healthy pipeline and consistently meet or exceed revenue targets
- Represent the organization at industry conferences and networking events
Requirements:
- 5–10+ years of business development or sales experience in pharma services, CRO, CDMO, or lab services
- Proven track record as a hunter with new logo acquisition success (required)
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical R&D, GMP environments, or lab operations
- Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Experience selling outsourced or insourced scientific services strongly preferred
