Mastech Digital is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of a customer-facing Electric Service Request and Interconnection application for a large U.S. electric utility. This role involves managing complex, multi-stakeholder utility environments and ensuring successful delivery and operational readiness of enterprise technology implementations.
Responsibilities:
- Own the full project lifecycle: charter, planning, execution, cutover, and closeout
- Decompose large implementations into discrete workstreams and use cases (e.g., new service requests, DER interconnection intake, workflow automation, system integrations)
- Manage scope, schedule, budget, and resources, ensuring transparency and accountability
- Lead cutover planning, data migration, and transition to steady-state operations
- Lead or support RFPs and procurement efforts for platform and systems integrator selection
- Define and manage contracts and statements of work (SOWs)
- Hold system integrators and vendors accountable to delivery milestones, quality, and outcomes
- Serve as the primary project point of contact across customer operations, IT, cybersecurity, and leadership
- Build and execute a stakeholder communication and engagement plan
- Proactively surface risks and issues, bringing solutions and mitigation options
- Oversee requirements, design reviews, configuration decisions, and testing (Unit, SIT, UAT)
- Ensure documentation, SOPs, and training are completed prior to go-live
- Enforce security, compliance, and governance standards consistent with utility practices
Requirements:
- 7+ years of Project Management experience delivering complex, customer-facing technology implementations
- Experience in the electric utility, energy, or infrastructure sector
- Demonstrated experience managing enterprise system integrations (e.g., GIS, CIS, CRM, customer billing, WAM, or similar)
- Proven ability to manage multi-vendor and system integrator environments
- Strong stakeholder management skills across technical, operational, and executive audiences
- PMP certification or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (additional experience may substitute for degree)
- Direct experience with electric service request, permitting, or interconnection workflows
- Familiarity with platforms such as Accela, PowerClerk, GridUnity, or similar intake/workflow tools
- Experience delivering customer-facing utility applications (self-service portals, service request systems)
- DER, solar, EV, or distributed energy resource program exposure
