Hyper Solutions is building next-generation infrastructure to support rapidly growing data center and high-performance computing environments. The Senior Electrical Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting control systems for low- to medium-voltage electrical power equipment, ensuring robust and compliant solutions throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical control systems for low- and medium-voltage power equipment
- Create control schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and I/O documentation
- Specify and program PLCs, HMIs, relays, sensors, and communication devices
- Ensure designs meet functional, safety, and performance requirements
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of system-level control issues during manufacturing and in the field
- Support factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT) and commissioning activities
- Drive standardization of control architectures and reusable design components
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
- Ensure compliance with electrical and controls standards (UL, NEC, NFPA, IEC, IEEE)
- Support UL certification, testing, and inspection processes
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and FMEA activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and manufacturing execution
- Contribute to improvements in system reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability
- Support long-term controls strategy and product roadmap initiatives
- Designing and updating electrical control schematics and system architectures
- Programming and troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs
- Supporting production teams with build documentation and issue resolution
- Participating in testing, commissioning, and field troubleshooting efforts
- Collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve system performance
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in electrical controls engineering in industrial or manufacturing environments
- Experience with data center infrastructure, power distribution equipment, or similar systems
- Hands-on experience with low- to medium-voltage power systems
- Strong knowledge of PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent)
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, BACnet, CAN, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, codes, and standards
- Experience supporting UL-regulated products and certification processes
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience with SCADA systems and remote monitoring
- Exposure to industrial cybersecurity considerations
- Experience with regulatory testing and certification (UL, IEC, CE)
- Experience with PLM/PDM systems
- PMP certification or experience leading technical projects
