About this role
General Dynamics Information Technology is a leader in next-generation IT solutions and professional services, seeking a highly motivated Test Engineer to support critical Homeland Security missions. The role involves testing and supporting mission-critical applications for the Department of Homeland Security, including writing and executing test cases and providing technical support throughout Agile sprint cycles.
Responsibilities:
- Write and execute test scenarios and test cases using JIRA application
- Ability to automate test cases
- Provide support and technical advice throughout Agile sprint cycles
- Validate enhancements to existing system in addition to coordinating with other QA and tester personnel
- Experience with scrum/agile project lifecycle approach to software development
- Able to work closely with counterparts in a cross-functional, Agile team setting, to understand product needs and implement the right tests
- Understands the importance of data as to analyze reported issues, inform severity of defects, inform the priority of tests
Requirements:
- US Citizenship Required
- BS or equivalent + 6 - 8 yrs related experience
- Experience in Agile and DevOps methodologies
- Experience implementing and configuring DevOps solutions
- Experience with querying databases using SQL
- Experience in SQL and SQL*Plus
- Proven track record as a self-learner keeping current with the latest techniques including automated testing and continuous integration
- Experience in Jira to support configuration management in an Agile environment
- Experience with Windows Desktop client testing such as C# / .NET, WPF, XAML
- Experience with testing Java Web Services / Spring Boot / Java EE / Angular
- Experience with Web Development / UI Frameworks / HTML / JavaScript
- Experience with RedHat OpenShift products such as OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Decision Manager
- Experience with Oracle DB / PostgreSQL DB / MySQL
- DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability
- BS in computer science or information systems field of study
- Experience with Docker, JBOSS, Postgres, NodeJS
- Knowledge or experience with capturing devices (fingerprint scanner, iris/face camera etc.)
- Certification in SAFe, SCRUM or Kanban
