The role involves supporting financial planning, M&A transactions, and post-merger integrations while partnering with executives to align financial strategy and operations.
Responsibilities:
- Supported or led:
- Financial due diligence (valuation inputs, financial modeling support)
- Deal execution coordination with bankers, legal, and execs
- Post-merger integration (PMI) planning and execution
- Building integration roadmaps and timelines
- Tracking synergy targets and cost savings
- Aligning financial reporting structures post-acquisition
- Budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
- Variance analysis and KPI tracking
- Building financial models and business cases
- Supporting executive decision-making with data
- Owns finance workstreams across large initiatives:
- M&A integrations
- Finance transformation
- ERP implementations tied to finance
- Timeline and milestone tracking
- RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies)
- Cross-functional coordination (Finance, IT, HR, Legal)
Requirements:
- 7–10+ years of experience leading financial planning, M&A transactions, and post-merger integrations
- Proven ability to align financial strategy, reporting, and operations across multi-entity organizations
- Experience supporting deal lifecycle + integration
- Strong business partnership with executives
- Supported or led financial due diligence (valuation inputs, financial modeling support)
- Deal execution coordination with bankers, legal, and execs
- Post-merger integration (PMI) planning and execution
- Building integration roadmaps and timelines
- Tracking synergy targets and cost savings
- Aligning financial reporting structures post-acquisition
- Exposure to carve-outs, roll-ups, or multi-entity consolidations
- Budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
- Variance analysis and KPI tracking
- Building financial models and business cases
- Supporting executive decision-making with data
- Owns finance workstreams across large initiatives
- Timeline and milestone tracking
- RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies)
- Cross-functional coordination (Finance, IT, HR, Legal)
- ERP / Financial systems: SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday Financials
- Planning tools: Adaptive, Anaplan, Hyperion
- Reporting: Excel (advanced), Power BI, Tableau
- Strong business acumen (thinks beyond debits/credits)
- Ability to connect financial strategy to operations
- Executive presence and communication
- Comfortable in ambiguity and fast-paced deal environments
- Highly analytical + structured thinker
- Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, or Business
- MBA (common for more senior candidates)
- CPA (less critical than accounting PM, but helpful)
- PMP (nice to have, not always required)
- End-to-end M&A exposure (not just 'supported')
- Strong FP&A + modeling experience
- Proven post-merger integration leadership
- Ability to speak to synergies, ROI, and business outcomes
- Experience working directly with CFOs, PE firms, or exec teams
