Role: Business Development Specialist (Utility Billing)
W2 Contract: 12 Months
Location: Fully Remote
Overview:
Join a leading energy and customer success team as a Business Development Specialist (Utility Bill Management). In this role, you will support a sophisticated utility bill management platform that handles the ingestion and payment of customer invoices. You will serve as a critical link between operations, customer success, and third-party payment providers to ensure financial accuracy and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze payment data and Excel files to ensure accurate processing of customer utility invoices.
- Manage the relationship and workflow with third-party bill-pay providers (e.g., PayClearly).
- Identify payment discrepancies and escalate issues to internal functional groups or external vendors.
- Communicate directly with customers regarding funding and invoice status when necessary.
- Coordinate with the Bill Pay, Operations, and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor s degree.
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience.
- Strong analytical skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications.
- Professional written and oral communication skills for customer-facing and internal interactions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with PayClearly or similar third-party bill management systems.
- Background in the Utility or Energy industry.
- Experience working as a Billing Analyst or in a Customer Success/Operations hybrid role.
