Iron Mountain is a company that provides expert solutions in records management, digital transformation, and data centers. They are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer to manage the design and procurement of data center facilities in North America, leading cross-organizational teams to deliver complex design programs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Project Design: Direct third-party architectural and engineering teams in the design of North American data center projects, providing oversight for budgets, schedules, and high-quality product delivery
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Interface with internal finance, sales, and operations teams, as well as external consultants and equipment manufacturers, to validate build programs and deliver critical infrastructure projects
- Support Business Growth: Assist in evaluating potential data center acquisitions and support the sales engineering team by providing technical insights necessary to pursue new business opportunities
- Manage Procurement: Oversee the procurement of long-lead, owner-furnished equipment to ensure project timelines and standards are maintained
- Ensure Standards & Compliance: Maintain a responsible platform of inclusion and diversity while ensuring all designs meet Iron Mountain standards and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
- At least 10 years of experience in design and construction project delivery, with a minimum of 5 years specifically managing project management teams
- In-depth knowledge of complex electrical, mechanical, life safety, and control systems associated with critical facilities or data centers
- Knowledge of national and local building codes
- Proven ability to manage complex design programs and build strong relationships with key suppliers, business partners, and internal customers
- Professional written, presentation, and customer relationship skills
- A four-year college degree is required
- US Citizenship is required
- Ability to travel 25% (including overnight and international travel as needed)
- A Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred
