Programmers.io is seeking an experienced Application Engineer to support customer engagements related to CAD data interoperability and validation. This role involves leading customer implementations, supporting pre-sales activities, and collaborating with various teams to ensure successful deployment of CAD solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead customer implementations and service delivery for CAD interoperability and validation solutions
- Support pre-sales activities, including technical demonstrations, solution design, and proposal development
- Analyze customer CAD data and interoperability requirements
- Configure CAD validation templates and workflows aligned with industry standards and customer requirements
- Implement and support PLM-integrated workflows
- Develop technical documentation, proposals, and Statements of Work (SOW)
- Install, configure, and deploy software solutions in customer environments
- Deliver technical training and enablement sessions for engineering teams
- Collaborate with sales, product management, and R&D to support customer success and product improvement
- Participate in industry standards initiatives and technical forums
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience working with CAD software as a user, administrator, or technical consultant
- Experience working with cross-functional and global teams
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills
- Advanced knowledge of at least one major 3D CAD platform (Creo, CATIA, Siemens NX, Inventor, or SOLIDWORKS)
- Ability to work with 3D geometry and Product Manufacturing Information (PMI)
- Familiarity with digital exchange formats such as STEP, JT, 3D PDF, and QIF
- Knowledge of GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5)
- Experience with multiple CAD systems
- Experience with PLM platforms, preferably Windchill or Teamcenter
- Experience with CAD validation tools and processes
- Understanding of Model-Based Engineering (MBE) / Model-Based Definition (MBD)
- Familiarity with industry standards such as STEP AP242, QIF, and LOTAR
- Knowledge of digital thread, digital twin, and Industry 4.0 initiatives
