optim.Aero is seeking a highly skilled Unmanned Aerial Systems Control/Simulation Engineer to join their team. The role involves developing and implementing simulation models for various projects, particularly in the defense sector, while ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality outcomes that meet client specifications.

Requirements:
- US citizen
- Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering / Controls
- Fundamental knowledge and understanding of flight dynamics
- 2+ years of experience in the design and analysis of UAS controllers/autopilots
- 1.5+ yrs experience using MATLAB and Simulink (Project teams count as experience)
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Proficient in English
- Strong working Python knowledge
- Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering with a focus in Guidance, Navigation, and Controls
- Knowledgeable in object-oriented coding, specifically C++
- Proficient with revision control tools (Git, Bitbucket)
- Dynamic system modeling of fixed-wing and rotorcraft UAS
- Guidance algorithm synthesis, implementation, and analysis
