Autodesk is a leading company in the design software industry, seeking a Building Engineering Strategy Manager to join their AEC Design Strategy team. This role involves developing strategic initiatives for the Building Engineering business, collaborating across teams, and engaging with industry stakeholders to drive growth and innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and drive the strategic GTM plan (short- and long-term) for Building Engineering (MEP + Structures) across North America
- Collaborate with Industry Strategy peers to shape the broader AEC strategy and advance cross-industry initiatives
- Lead market research and analysis, synthesizing customer feedback and industry trends across MEP systems and Structural engineering
- Influence and align Product, Marketing, and Sales teams on growth strategies, including GTM approaches for new products and platforms
- Present insights and strategic recommendations to leadership, including Strategic Plans and Opportunity Proposals
- Engage customers and industry stakeholders through executive briefings, customer councils, industry events, working groups, and media engagements
- Lead strategic partnerships and contribute to M&A strategy and execution aligned with Building Engineering priorities
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience in MEP design and/or Structural engineering, with strong knowledge of building engineering workflows
- 10+ years of related experience across engineering and business roles, including strategy, technology, or consulting
- Demonstrated experience in business planning, strategic visioning, and industry thought leadership
- Strong proficiency in developing executive-level presentations and performing advanced data analysis
- Proven ability to drive outcomes in a matrixed organization through cross-functional collaboration
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies
- Experience presenting to senior executives and engaging with customers, partners, and industry leaders
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or related field)
- Willingness to travel 20–30% for customer and industry engagement
- Strategy or management consulting experience (top-tier firm or equivalent) preferred
- MBA a plus
