About this role
Prosum is seeking a deeply technical Head of Product – Secure Solid-State Storage to lead the strategy, architecture, and roadmap for next generation encrypted SSDs designed to protect classified and highly sensitive data across government and defense environments. The role involves overseeing product strategy, technical leadership, and ensuring compliance with federal certifications.
Responsibilities:
- Own long-term roadmap for secure SSD portfolio
- Define next-gen SSD platforms (M.2, BGA, U.2, server architectures)
- Lead PQC-ready storage strategy aligned with NSA CNSA 2.0
- Ensure performance, power, and OEM compatibility requirements
- Act as internal authority on SSD technology (NAND, controllers, firmware, protocols)
- Guide architecture decisions across storage stack
- Identify risks early to avoid downstream integration/certification issues
- Ensure compatibility across laptops, servers, rugged systems, embedded platforms
- Work with OEMs (Dell, HPE, Getac, Panasonic, etc.)
- Address power, thermals, performance, and firmware considerations
- Ensure compliance with FIPS 140-3, NIAP, CSfC
- Align with post-quantum cryptography requirements
- Partner with certification teams and labs
- Work with controller vendors and SSD partners
- Support expansion of U.S.-based manufacturing
- Ensure scalable, reliable production processes
- Partner across engineering, product, sales, and leadership
- Support customer-facing technical discussions
- Position our company as leader in encrypted SSDs
Requirements:
- Deep expertise in SSD technology (NAND, controllers, firmware, protocols)
- Experience managing storage products/platforms
- Strong understanding of OEM storage environments
- Ability to define technical product requirements and architecture
- Experience working with storage vendors and ecosystem partners
- U.S. Citizen eligible for clearance
- Experience with secure/encrypted storage
- Familiarity with FIPS, NIAP, CSfC
- Experience in government/defense environments
- Knowledge of post-quantum cryptography
- Experience with OEM hardware platforms
- Supply chain/manufacturing experience
