Loren Data Corp. is seeking a hands-on infrastructure engineer to manage real systems in a production colocation environment. The role focuses on Hyper-V virtualization, StarWind storage, and Windows Server, supporting a hybrid environment that extends into Azure.
Responsibilities:
- Build, configure & support Hyper-V virtual machine environments in a production colo
- Work hands-on with StarWind vSAN for storage management & high availability
- Support VM provisioning, snapshots, replication & recovery
- Maintain uptime on systems that production workloads depend on
- Support physical servers, switches & firewalls in a colo datacenter environment
- Coordinate with colo providers on connectivity, power & physical access
- Maintain hardware lifecycle — patching, upgrades & replacements
- Keep documentation current — system diagrams, runbooks & procedures
- Administer Windows Server environments including Active Directory & DNS
- Support identity & access management across colo & hybrid environments
- Participate in incident response & root cause analysis
- Support connectivity between colo infrastructure & Azure
- Assist with SQL Server administration & basic performance troubleshooting
- Learn Azure services as they integrate with our colo environment
Requirements:
- Proven hands-on experience with Hyper-V in a production environment
- Experience supporting Windows Server & Active Directory
- Familiarity with colocation or datacenter environments
- Solid networking fundamentals — VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, TCP/IP
- Strong troubleshooter who digs in until the problem is solved
- PowerShell experience or demonstrated ability to pick it up fast
- Bachelor's (Required)
- infrastructure/systems engineering : 3 years (Required)
- Experience with StarWind vSAN or similar software-defined storage
- Microsoft certifications (AZ-104, MCSA or equivalent)
- Experience supporting hybrid identity environments
