JOB DESCRIPTION:
Conducts research and plans development and design of gas and solid-state lasers, masers, infrared, and other light emitting and light sensitive devices. Designs electronic circuitry and optical components with specific characteristics to fit within specified mechanical limits and to perform according to specifications. May conduct application analysis to determine commercial, industrial, scientific, medical, military or other use for electro-optical devices.
MUST HAVE:
- Custom laser system assembly, integration, and alignment.
- Laser system characterization and documentation, including but not limited to, power, beam quality, wavelength, and temporal waveform.
- Specifying optics and other components for custom laser systems.
- Characterization of kW-class fiber amplifiers including PER, beam quality, power, and phase noise.
- Large-mode-area splicing for kW-class amplifiers.

WORK LOCATION:
- This position is HYBRID.
- The individual will be required to be onsite 4-5 days a week.
- Candidates are expected to be local at the time of the start of the assignment.
- Final scheduled TBD by hiring manager.
TRAVEL:
- There may be 1-2 domestic trips per year for this role.
INTERVIEW PROCESS:
- 1st round interview will be a Zoom with the hiring manager.
