Role Summary
The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART). The RTE facilitates ART events and processes, manages risks and dependencies, and helps drive delivery excellence while ensuring strong communication with client senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the servant leader for the Agile Release Train and facilitate ART-level ceremonies (PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt, etc.).
- Manage and resolve cross-team dependencies, risks, and impediments.
- Coordinate release planning and execution across multiple agile teams.
- Drive alignment across Product Management, Engineering, Architecture, and Business stakeholders.
- Ensure effective communication with client senior leadership, providing clear status, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Track and report ART-level metrics (predictability, velocity, quality, etc.).
- Coach teams on SAFe/Agile best practices and continuous improvement.
- Support change management and help teams adopt agile ways of working.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of overall IT experience with 3 to 5 years in an RTE / Release Management / Senior Scrum Master role.
- Strong experience with SAFe framework and Agile delivery.
- Solid understanding of SDLC, DevOps, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially with senior client leadership.
- Strong problem-solving, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAFe RTE certification (preferred).
- Experience working in large, complex enterprise programs.
- Financial Services domain experience is a plus.
In compliance with the salary transparency law, the expected pay range for this role is $60-65/hr. Actual compensation depends on experience and interview evaluation.
