About this role
Highbrow Technology Inc is currently hiring an experienced Senior Middleware Engineer for a remote contract opportunity supporting cloud-native middleware and AI-integrated backend platform initiatives. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in technologies such as Node.js, TypeScript, and Azure, focusing on the design and maintenance of scalable middleware services.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable middleware services using Node.js and TypeScript
- Implement AI-powered integrations leveraging OpenAI and MCP frameworks
- Build and deploy cloud-native middleware solutions within Microsoft Azure environments
- Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate workloads with Kubernetes
- Manage infrastructure provisioning and automation using Terraform
- Work with distributed and high-performance data stores including MongoDB , MySQL , and Redis
- Develop data processing workflows using Python , Pandas , and Jupyter Notebooks
- Support middleware platform reliability, scalability, and performance optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver production-ready solutions
Requirements:
- 10+ Years of middleware / backend engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js
- Strong hands-on experience with OpenAI integrations
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- Strong hands-on experience with Docker
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform
- Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB
- Strong hands-on experience with MySQL
- Strong hands-on experience with Redis
- Strong hands-on experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol)
- Strong hands-on experience with Python
- Strong hands-on experience with Pandas
- Strong hands-on experience with Jupyter Notebooks
- Demonstrate strong expertise in cloud-native architecture (Azure)
- Possess hands-on experience integrating OpenAI-based solutions
- Be comfortable working in containerized and orchestrated environments
- Have strong experience working with data-driven workflows using Python and Pandas
