The Commercial Sector BDR will engage prospective clients and help commercial sector entities modernize their IT infrastructure while meeting compliance and security requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and prospect new commercial sector clients (state, local, education, and government agencies) through research, outbound outreach, and networking
- Qualify leads and initiate meaningful conversations focused on clients’ IT modernization, cybersecurity, cloud, and compliance challenges
- Schedule meetings and support sales executives in the sales process
- Maintain accurate records of outreach and client interactions in CRM systems
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop targeted campaigns for commercial sector prospects
- Stay current on commercial sector technology trends, procurement methods, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, PCI
- Articulate the Blue Mantis value proposition—security-first, cost optimization, compliance, and innovation—to commercial sector decision-makers
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for outreach, meetings booked, and pipeline generation
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of business development, sales, or lead generation experience (preferably in IT services or commercial sector markets)
- Understanding of commercial sector procurement cycles and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Experience using CRM and sales enablement tools
- Knowledge of IT solutions such as managed services, cybersecurity, cloud, and data enablement is a plus
