Product Safety Engineer

Metric Geo is a company focused on product safety engineering, and they are seeking a Product Safety Engineer to test and evaluate products against various safety standards. The role involves mentoring junior staff, planning compliance testing, and communicating project findings to internal teams and clients.

Responsibilities:

• Test and evaluate products against U.S., Canadian, and international safety standards
• Mentor and support junior engineering staff
• Review schematics, manufacturing instructions, and product construction
• Plan and execute compliance testing; document and report results
• Communicate project status and findings to internal teams and clients

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or technical degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Experience with product safety standards such as ANSI, CSA, UL, EN, and IEC, including: IEC 60601 (Medical), IEC 62368 (ICT), IEC 61010 (Lab/Test Equipment), IEC 60335 (HVAC/Appliances)
• Familiarity with product categories including medical, electronics, laboratory, IT, appliances, and machinery
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Willingness to travel as needed
• Open to relocate to Middlefield, OH, Indianapolis, IN, or Damascus, MD for this role
