Shipping and Receiving Technician
General Description:
1. Primary Responsibilities:
a. Receiving:
Unload Raw Materials and Tools.
Check contents before unloading, noting the variances, or issues
with the freight before unloading on the bill of lading. Also, taking digital pictures where applicable to note damage for claims.
Removing packing slips and certification (when applicable) upon receipt and receiving into IQMS systems.
Notification to purchasing if line item is not open to receive against, for resolution.
Inspection of raw materials for each material in accordance with the control plan.
Forwarding all receiving documents and certifications to the proper personnel.
b. Raw Materials Warehouse Management:
Putting away received materials on or underneath the rack.
Assuring torn bags or boxes are repaired to prevent leakage into other stored materials.
Assuring Gaylord lids are in place or plastic covers are in place if cardboard covers are not present.
Policing of area to assure manufacturing personnel keep the area clean and organized as material is pulled and replaced in warehouse.
c. Shipping:
Loading of Finished Materials or Tools when shipped, during working hours.
When after hours shipping is required, it is the responsibly of the Shipping Technician to assure Manufacturing Personnel have clearly defined instructions on the carriers picking each specific shipment.
Creation of pick ticket after releases and sales orders have been updated with “pull” information of that specific date.
Responsible for Inventory management through the use of IQRF (scanning software and hardware) and discreet warehouse locations.
Preparation of the shipments, pulling materials based on lowest lot number, for FIFO (first in first out) rotation of inventory. Accuracy is very important in pulling the shipment, so care must be taken to assure correct pull.
Verification of shipment must be completed by second party if the RF scanning is down, it is the responsibility of the Receiving/Shipping Technician that is occurs.
Calling of Freight Company for pickup time.
Preperation of Shipment, including, but not limited to:
1. Stretch wrapping of Pallets
2. Pallet Labels
3. Packing Slip Pouch
4. Invoice Pouch (for international Shipments)
5. Ship-To Labels
6. Customer Specific Requirements
Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN’s) to be sent to customer, as required, via their specific instructions/system.
FedEx / Package Shipments – Run to Depot or call in pick-ups for facility.
Customer requirements will be outlined on the Customer Shipping Reference Sheet, and it will be the Receiving/Shipping Technician’s to keep it updated as the customers systems change.
d. Finished Materials Warehouse Management:
Putting away finished materials on or underneath the rack.
Assuring torn boxes are inspected for damage, scrapped or repaired before shipment in the event of damage to the exterior of a carton.
Policing of area to assure manufacturing personnel keep the area clean and organized as material is pulled and placed in warehouse.
e. Routine Equipment Maintenance:
Weekly Fork Lift Maintenance:
1. Check Water Levels to assure cells are full.
2. Check Parking Break Operation.
3. Grease Forks, as required, for smooth operation and adjustment.
4. Assure Weekend Shift allows the unit to charge for a full eight hours.
Work experience requirements:
• 3 years' of applicable work experience.
• Experience with computer and/or computer related systems.
Educational Guidelines
• High school diploma or GED
• Computer Training (preferred)
Must have valid driver's license
