Delve Search is a global search consultancy seeking a motivated and technically skilled Field Service Engineer to support the installation, maintenance, and optimisation of advanced semiconductor process equipment across North America. The role focuses on ensuring high system uptime, delivering exceptional customer support, and contributing to technical documentation and customer training initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, and qualify semiconductor process equipment at customer sites, ensuring systems meet performance and process specifications
- Perform advanced troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, RF, and vacuum subsystems
- Deliver high-quality field service support, including diagnostics, repair, calibration, and preventative maintenance activities
- Provide on-site customer training following system installation, ensuring operators and engineers are confident in system use and basic maintenance
- Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams, supporting Sales and Applications by explaining system capabilities, specifications, and thin-film process solutions
- Provide detailed process insight, supporting customers in optimising plasma processes for materials such as GaN, SiC, and other compound semiconductors
- Offer remote and on-site technical support, responding promptly to customer inquiries and service requests
- Maintain accurate service records and manage installed base data, including system configurations, upgrades, and maintenance history
- Assist in the development, review, and continuous improvement of installation, operation, and maintenance manuals
- Coordinate spare parts management and recommend inventory strategies to minimise system downtime
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 + years of hands-on experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of semiconductor process equipment (e.g., plasma etching, plasma deposition systems)
- Experience working with vacuum systems, RF generators/matching networks, gas delivery systems, or semiconductor automation is highly desirable
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (Associate degree or higher)
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in the field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced, technical environment
- Willingness to travel extensively as required
