ABOUT THE ROLEOur client is seeking an entry-level RTLS Network Technician to support a project-based deployment of Real-Time Location Services (RTLS) solutions within healthcare facilities across Northern California. In this role, you will assist with the installation, configuration, and testing of RTLS infrastructure and beacons on medical devices to enable asset tracking and improve operational workflows. You will work closely with project leads and on-site staff to complete deployment milestones on schedule, while adhering to hospital policies, confidentiality requirements, and safety standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions and safety protocols, and effective communication skills in a healthcare environment. The role is physically active, involving standing, walking, bending, and light lifting of equipment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Install RTLS beacons on medical devices in accordance with project and manufacturer guidelines
- Assist with installation and setup of RTLS network components, including sensors, gateways, and related hardware
- Support basic network connectivity tasks involving Ethernet, PoE, and wireless connections
- Perform device activation, labeling, and validation to ensure accurate asset tracking
- Conduct basic testing and assist with troubleshooting connectivity or device issues
- Follow hospital safety, infection control, and equipment handling protocols
- Document installed devices, locations, and installation status
- Collaborate with project leads and on-site staff to complete deployment milestones on schedule
- Adhere to hospital policies, confidentiality requirements, and safety standards
- Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and light lifting of equipment as required
WHAT YOU BRING- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training a plus
- 0-2 years of experience in technical, IT, biomedical, or field service roles (entry-level candidates welcome)
- Comfortable using hand tools and basic technical equipment
- Ability to follow written instructions, floor plans, and checklists
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new technologies
- Professional communication skills and comfort working in a healthcare setting
- Exposure to healthcare environments, IT support, or medical equipment handling (preferred)
- Experience with low-voltage systems, networking, or device installations (preferred)
- Familiarity with asset tracking, IoT, or RTLS technologies (preferred)
- CompTIA A+ or similar foundational certification a plus
