Responsibilities:
- Operate with high autonomy in shaping roadmap and architecture across an emerging set of new solutions
- Partner directly with senior product and business leaders to drive measurable outcomes in alignment with team and company goals
- Accelerate product development and guide architectural decisions, empowering technical teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions on time and with high quality
- Be hands-on as needed to support the engineering team in its ongoing efforts
- Apply AI to accelerate development velocity, power product capabilities, and unlock new growth opportunities
- Attract, develop, and reward top engineering talent to sustain a highly engaged team
- Implement and optimize operational processes to ensure alignment with Workiva's strategy, streamlining efficiencies across different Workflow solution areas
- Foster an atmosphere of respect, continuous learning, humor, and a shared commitment to business goals and customer success
- Enable teams to move quickly and deliver high-quality output
- Actively coach managers and engineers to uphold Workiva values, resolve conflicts, and create a culture of trust and psychological safety
- Partner with product teams to gain a deep understanding of customer needs and ensure alignment with business goals, especially in creating seamless, user-focused solutions integrated with the Workiva Platform, leveraging the full power of AI
- Lead the Growth team in identifying and addressing customer challenges, delivering high-quality, user-focused solutions
- Uncover new development opportunities to support Solution expansion and business growth
- Oversee technical decision-making, ensuring seamless coordination across Growth product areas
- Provide leadership for innovative solutions, guiding product architects, and aligning development teams with strategic objectives
- Align talent, resources, and structures to deliver effective product outcomes
- Manage dependencies, support team capabilities, and ensure delivery of high-quality solutions
- Facilitate continuous productivity improvements within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), collaborating with cross-functional leaders for alignment and efficiency
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 10 years related experience, or Master's degree with 8 years related experience, or PhD with 6 years related experience
- 5+ years in direct people management roles, including supervisor experience of managers
- Strong emotional intelligence and a proven track record of effective leadership
- Experience leading engineering teams in the development of scalable B2B SaaS platforms or products over multiple releases
- Broad industry knowledge with strategic insight into modern technology and architecture including the use of AI for both development and embedded in a solution
- Extensive experience delivering products to external customers over multiple releases
- Applied knowledge of full-stack development, with a focus on technologies such as Java/Kotlin, TypeScript, Event-based systems and Transactional (Relational, No-SQL) & Analytical (OLAP, Data warehouses / lakes) Databases
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a history of architecting and delivering scalable SaaS B2B solutions
- Clear, effective communication skills and a customer-centric approach
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
