Python Software Engineer - AI Workflows

Alignerr is seeking a Senior Python Software Engineer to build and optimize infrastructure for AI workflows. The role involves designing high-performance Python systems for data pipelines and evaluation workflows, collaborating with teams to enhance model training and evaluation processes.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and optimize high-performance Python systems supporting AI data pipelines and evaluation workflows
• Develop full-stack tooling and backend services for large-scale data annotation, validation, and quality control
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks, edge cases, and reliability issues across existing codebases
• Improve performance, safety, and maintainability across Python infrastructure used in real AI production environments
• Collaborate with data, research, and engineering teams to support model training and evaluation workflows
• Participate in synchronous design reviews and iterate on system architecture and implementation decisions

Requirements:

• Native or fluent English speaker with clear written and verbal communication
• Full-stack developer with a strong systems programming background
• 3–5+ years of professional experience writing production-grade Python
• Disciplined about code quality — you naturally reach for linters, formatters, and comprehensive test coverage
• Experienced integrating AI services and third-party APIs, with solid instincts for error handling and edge case management
• Able to commit 20–40 hours per week with reliability and consistency
• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality, or evaluation systems
• Familiarity with AI/ML workflows, model training, or benchmarking pipelines
• Experience with distributed systems or developer tooling
• Background working directly with AI research teams or labs
