ABOUT THE ROLE Our Client is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer III to provide advanced structural engineering support for heavy industrial and power plant facilities. This role encompasses structural design, analysis, field support, and coordination with multi-disciplinary project teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy industrial or power plant structural engineering, or hold accredited engineering degrees with a Professional Engineering (PE) license. The position offers flexibility for hybrid or remote work arrangements and requires excellent problem-solving, project management, and interpersonal skills.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Provide advanced structural engineering design and field support for heavy industrial and power plant projects
- Prepare structural designs, calculations, and technical documentation
- Perform site walkdowns and structural inspections at construction and operating facilities
- Develop cost estimates and material takeoffs for structural components
- Produce, review, and check structural steel design calculations and drawings
- Conduct structural inspections and prepare written evaluation reports
- Coordinate with plant personnel, engineering teams, and vendors to support project execution
- Provide project schedule input and staffing support for multi-disciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with structural codes, standards, and OSHA safety regulations
- Manage and coordinate multiple large-scale, multi-discipline projects simultaneously
WHAT YOU BRING- 30+ years of experience in heavy industrial and/or power plant structural engineering OR accredited Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Engineering with a Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Extensive knowledge of structural steel and concrete design principles and industry practices
- Significant experience in structural steel connection design
- Proficiency with applicable structural codes and standards
- Strong understanding of heavy industrial structures and components
- Proficiency with structural analysis software, including STAAD.Pro
- Strong computer and technical documentation skills
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety requirements
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple large-scale, multi-discipline projects simultaneously
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across diverse teams
