GraphQL API EngineerBrooksource is searching for a GraphQL API Engineer with 5+ years of relevant experience to join our enterprise financial services partner in Charlotte, NC or Detroit, MI.
This role focuses on building modern, scalable backend services with a strong emphasis on JavaScript/TypeScript engineering and API development. The engineer will work extensively with Node.js to create both RESTful and GraphQL interfaces, contribute to AWS-based application architectures, and help strengthen CI/CD and deployment pipelines in partnership with DevOps teams.
Technical Skills:- Expert in backend development using JavaScript, Typescript, and common design patterns. Knowledge on any other programming languages or technologies is a plus.
- Experience with building Restful and GraphQL API with Node.js
- Experience building applications, CI/CD pipelines and databases on AWS
- Experience with Gen AI for code generation, testing and automation of day-to-day engineering tasks
- Experience/understanding of React/React Native is a plus
Job Responsibilities:- Demonstrate hands-on experience with distributed systems design and architecture to build scalable, reliable, and resilient platforms
- Establish coding best practices, conduct constructive peer code reviews, enable CI/CD and test and release pipelines
- Work with DevOps team to build and deploy the software solutions to AWS
- Open to learn and contribute to features built using modern technologies
- Work on triaging production and integration issues from API consumers
Environment:- 12-month contract position with strong potential for extension or full-time hire

- (Location) Charlotte, NC or Detroit, MI - Hybrid schedule of 3 days in office and 2 days remote per week
- W-2 only (not compatible with Corp-to-Corp or 1099) - the successful candidate must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship
