
JOB PURPOSE
The Supervisor of Performance Engineering will plan and direct supervise employees engaged in the development and implementation of effective
management concepts: and research/investigate means of improving methods and reducing costs utilizing Industrial Engineering techniques.
Essential Duties:
Train, direct and supervise employees within the area of responsibility having the authority to hire, transfer, promote, discipline, discharge, handle grievances and other managerial functions. Responsible for developing and implementing effective management concepts; and researching/investigating improved methods and cost reduction techniques. Schedule, assign and coordinate interdepartmental and intradepartmental activities for area. Review/approve and coordinate various reports and recommendations to management; implement projects. Supervise the overall operation of the assigned area. Coordinate the presentation and communication of project information such as work force planning, work measurement, budgetary review, etc. Review various governmental regulations and coordinate the development and implementation of plans to comply. Meet and counsel with Management personnel in determining priorities, introducing new work procedures and introducing industrial
engineering programs. Responsible for overall crew operations which include testing/implementation of new procedures/functions in the Work Scheduling and Work Forecasting subsystems and development/implementation of performance measurement systems. Stay abreast of new developments, techniques and governmental regulations related to the field of Industrial Engineering. Perform other duties as assigned and or directed.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
A valid driver's license from state of residence is required.
A valid Tennessee Professional Engineer's license (P.E.) is required.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, and/or a related field from an ABET accredited institution is required.
EXPERIENCE
4-6 years of project study experience in industrial engineering.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Must successfully complete Supervisor Assessment Center training within 90 days of hire. Must successfully complete NIMS Training within 1 year of entering job. Must have an occupationally significant combination of leadership abilities to motivate and direct employees; intellectual capacity to comprehend and apply engineering, scientific or technical principles/methods; mathematical ability. proven analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities; customer relations skills; integrity; oral/written communications skills; and ability to work as a team and promote safe work practices. Work Environment: Works in office majority of time; subject to construction hazards while making field inspections. Standing or walking for long periods, exerting up to 20 pounds or more.
