The ACEJMC-accredited School of Journalism and Strategic Media at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#144090) at the rank of lecturer. This is a one-year temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually based on available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The appointment start date is August 1, 2026.
The successful candidate will help our growing school by teaching courses in interactive media and other media-related courses, as needed. A master's degree in a communication-related field such as journalism, strategic communication, social media, visual communication, interactive media, mass communication, digital communication, media studies, digital media, strategic media, or another communication/mass communication-closely related/media field is required by the appointment date.
A bachelor's degree with two (2) years of demonstrated exceptional professional experience in journalism, public relations, advertising, communication, strategic communication, mass communication, organizational communication, media design, or other closely related fields may be considered in lieu of a master's degree.
