Crossing Hurdles is seeking an Energy and Power Systems Expert for a remote, part-time role. The position involves developing and evaluating advanced energy and power systems problems and creating original problem sets while maintaining high-quality output in a flexible environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and evaluate advanced energy and power systems problems for model benchmarking workflows
- Create original problem sets using one-line diagrams, load curves, generation profiles, and power electronics schematics
- Author, review, and annotate rigorous power systems tasks with clear, step-by-step reference solutions
- Apply structured quality checks to ensure accuracy, clarity, and engineering rigor
- Demonstrate strong fluency across multiple domains (e.g., power flow, machines and drives, renewables integration, grid operations, power electronics)
- Interpret and work confidently with single-line diagrams, PQ/VI curves, and generation/load profiles
- Communicate complex engineering reasoning clearly through structured technical writing
- Bring academic or applied experience across power systems, utilities, grid operations, renewables, or power electronics environments
- Operate independently, manage flexible workloads, and maintain consistent high-quality output
