KitBash3D is a company focused on empowering 3D artists through innovative software tools and assets. They are seeking a Product Designer who will define the user experience for their Cargo application, engaging in both design and coding aspects to create cohesive and exceptional 3D tools.
Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end product design across Cargo's product lines, from helping shape early concepts through detailed interaction design
- Evolve and extend our established design system in Figma and in code as we expand into new product areas
- Shape 0-1 product surfaces where no design precedent exists yet, while keeping them cohesive with the broader Cargo experience
- Iterate rapidly based on user feedback
- Make opinionated decisions about UX. We'd rather you have a strong point of view and be wrong than play it safe
- Use AI as a core part of how you work it is your daily tool for exploration, iteration, prototyping, and learning
- Leverage AI to punch above your weight: move faster, explore more directions, and produce higher-fidelity work than would be possible through traditional workflows alone
- Prototype in code, pair ideas with working prototypes to feel it out
- Ship frontend work in React — components, layouts, polish, animation
- Own the final-mile quality gap of what truly makes the product feel excellent
- Contribute to PRs, participate in code review, work inside the codebase daily
- Care about the details that most people skip: empty states, loading patterns, error messages, transitions
- Design QA what ships — catch drift between intent and implementation before users do
Requirements:
- Strong product design fundamentals: you can structure complex workflows into clear, usable interfaces
- Design discernment: You have a documented eye for high-quality craft and can articulate the objective principles behind what makes software feel intuitive and polished
- AI-native: You use AI tools daily to accelerate exploration, prototyping, and development, and you're constantly experimenting with new workflows
- Comfort with ambiguity: You are energized by both extending established patterns and inventing new ones from scratch when no precedent exists
- Bias toward action: You prioritize shipping and learning over prolonged debate, understanding that real-world feedback is the best data
- Working proficiency in React and CSS: You have the technical fluency to contribute to the production codebase and ship high-fidelity frontend work
- Figma fluency: you think in components and systems, not one-off screens, maintaining a scalable design language
- Experience evolving an existing design system: you know how to add to a living system without breaking what's already there
- English fluency: You possess strong professional verbal and written English skills, with the ability to articulate complex design decisions and technical trade-offs to a global team
- Time zone & Collaboration alignment: You are based in Europe or Latin America and are able to maintain a consistent daily overlap (typically 4+ hours) with our North American-based team for synchronous collaboration and stand-ups
- An eye for fine details: You are observant and precise, catching the 'final-mile' details like empty states, transitions, and error handling
- Highly accountable: You take end-to-end ownership of your work and believe that individual accountability is the foundation of team success
- Appetite for scale-up culture: You are a self-starter who thrives in fast-moving environments and can quickly adapt to shifting product needs
- Commitment to continuous growth: You actively seek out new technical and creative challenges and are dedicated to evolving your toolkit as the industry changes
- Experience designing for creative tools, 3D software, or technical/developer audiences
- Familiarity with USD, DCCs (Blender, Maya, Unreal), or production pipeline workflows
- Experience working in small, fast-moving product teams where roles blur
