They are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Pro Response Quality team, focusing on advancing the success of their Services marketplace by mentoring engineers and driving key initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of engineers focused on building impactful features and functionalities to drive successful outcomes for Services Pros
- Coach and mentor engineers of all experience levels, from early career to senior engineers, fostering their professional development and career growth
- Work closely with your product-, design-, data science-, and marketing partners to build and execute long-term roadmaps
- Ensure high quality project management and engineering standards and practices for the team
- Participate in discussions surrounding future applications and/or systems regarding their appropriateness of solution
- Participate in the hiring process; identifying potential candidates, conducting interviews, and closing new hires to build a strong and diverse team
- Foster and build a fun, diverse, and inclusive culture that reflects Yelp’s values
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a manager with excellent people management skills
- A solid technical background to shape the team's technical direction and roadmap
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams working closely with product-, design-, data science- and biz ops functions
- Product-driven approach that focuses on solving user needs with seamless user experience
- Experience balancing short-term business priorities with long-term technical quality through sound judgment
