CDW is a Fortune 500 technology solutions provider that helps organizations achieve what’s possible through technology. They are seeking a Senior Consulting Engineer to perform client consultations, design and implement physical security systems, and support complex hardware/software solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Perform client consultation: plan, design, implement, and support Physical Security Systems
- Develop and implement the technical architecture and physical design of the network: analyze existing Physical Security Systems and recommend solutions
- Set up, configure, and test Physical Security Systems that include video surveillance, access control, sensors, air quality control, and third-party integrations
- Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to complex hardware/software problems
- Assist Account Managers during the sales process by educating the customer about new technologies in the Physical Security space. Identify and communicate potential opportunities for cross-selling to the sales team
- Assist in the management of projects using CDW's project management methodology. Follow life-cycle oriented processes and procedures
- Ensure a stable performance environment for enterprise computer applications
- Participate in various IT projects intended to continually improve/upgrade converged network solutions
- Regularly interface with technical and business staff of customers, including the project sponsor and stakeholders of projects in more complex engagements
- Serve as technical point of contact on customer engagements
- Create and execute test plans to meet project requirements for assigned components
- Manage time and expense to meet or exceed expectations defined in the Statement of Work
- Provide high quality content deliverables using the appropriate document templates
- Ensure solution is implemented as designed to the customer’s satisfaction and approval
- Work with Professional Services Managers, ATAE's, Project Managers, Partners, and customers to manage expectations and timelines to ensure expectations and commitments are being met
- Conduct/lead design workshops for complex designs to meet customer, partners, business, and technical objectives
- Proactively develop plans and activities to avoid problems
- Educate the customer on solution as appropriate throughout the life of the project or service life
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree and 5+ years of experience delivering complex technical solutions including planning, development, implementation, and support. Or, 9+ years of experience delivering complex technical solutions including planning, development, implementation and support
- Hands-on Genetec or Verkada systems engineering experience
- Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary to meet clients' needs
- Ability to travel between 25%-50%
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients
- Physically able to lift up to 30 pounds of equipment
- Attention to detail on inventory and logistics is important
- Minimum of 2 years related experience in infrastructure/network environments, with some experience in network engineering (hardware and software), network security practices and designing, planning, and implementing LANs and WANs using the latest technology
- 2 years consulting experience, a plus
- Experience in Milestone systems engineering experience, a plus
- Minimum of one year experience in programming or analytical work, a plus
- Axis Certified Professional Certification, a plus
- Genetec Security Center Omnicast and Synergis Certificates, a plus
- Milestone Certified Integration Technician Certificate, a plus
- Meraki MV Experience, a plus
- Verkada Experience, a plus
- Video Surveillance System Implementation Experience, a plus
- Access Control System Implementation Experience, a plus
